An important international guest visited the students of the Cherkasy educational center of the School of
Superheroes —
Pedro Forbes
Lemos,
Deputy Head of Mission at the Portuguese Embassy in Ukraine.
The opening of this educational center and the teaching of children within hospital walls was made possible
thanks to
funding
from the Olena Zelenska Foundation, with the Portuguese Institute of Camoes acting as the donor for the
creation of the
center. The new center
began operating in
Cherkasy in January, and a modern learning space for the School was opened at the start of the academic
year.
Children undergoing long-term treatment now have a place of strength and knowledge where they can take a
break from
exhausting procedures,
receive support, gain new knowledge, and make new friends.
Since the beginning of the new school year, more than 2,000 classes have already been held at the center.
Pedro Forbes
Lemos joined
the natural science classes with preschoolers and conducted physics experiments with middle school students.
The center's classes are open to all children and teenagers.
With the support of the Portuguese Institute Camões and the Olena Zelenska Foundation, another educational
center was
opened in Chernihiv before the start of the new academic year.
The center will provide free language courses for Ukrainian refugees in Portugal.
The center will be located in the city of Viseu, in the building of the Portuguese Institute Camões.
The Superhero School team thanks its international partners for their support and shared values. By the end
of the year,
there are plans to
open three more new educational spaces to make learning in hospitals even more accessible and
interesting for children.
