New Classroom Opened at the Educational Center in Kharkiv
30.11.2024
For over two years, the teachers of the Superheroes School's educational center have been visiting young
patients daily
at another hospital in Kharkiv, conducting lessons in a smallclassroom and hospital wards. Space was
limited, with the
classroom accommodating only 7 desks.
Thanks to UNICEF and with the support of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the superheroes now
have a new
gateway to the world of knowledge and childhood. The new classroom will serve as a learning space for
elementary school
students and preschool children.
The new 27-square-meter classroom is equipped to the highest standards with modern furniture and all the
necessary
resources for lessons, including desks, an interactive whiteboard, tablets, stationery, and didactic
materials. There is
also a corner dedicated to creative activities.
The opening was attended by Jinan Ramadan, Head of the UNICEF Office in Kharkiv, Vita Koval'ska, Deputy Head
of the
Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban, Deputy Mayor for Healthcare and Social
Protection,
and Iryna Tulyakova, Head of the Coordination Center for Family Education and Childcare.
In just September and October of this academic year, 161 children have benefited from educational services,
with 1,253
lessons held. “We are sincerely grateful to everyone who contributed to strengthening our hub and worked
tirelessly to
create this island of hope. To those who, despite the challenges, shelling, and fears, continue to believe
in our future
– in our children!” said IrynaPonamarenko, Head of the Superheroes School EducationalCenter in Kharkiv.
