Olena Zelenska and Maia Sandu Visit the Superheroes School Educational Center
29.01.2025
An unexpected meeting that brought our superheroes inspiration for learning and recovery! The educational
center of the
Superheroes School, located at the National Cancer Institute, welcomed First Lady of Ukraine, Olena
Zelenska, and
President of Moldova, Maia Sandu.
Their visit was a powerful reminder that education has no boundaries. For teachers, the mission is to open
up the
incredible world of knowledge. For our young superheroes, it is about taking the first step.
During the visit, multiple lessons were taking place simultaneously. Senior students were engaged in a
special class
dedicated to Ukraine’s Unity Day, while in another room, teacher Liliya worked one-on-one with four-year-old
Tymofii.
Meanwhile, elementary teacher Nataliya conducted a bedside lesson with Sofiia, who had recently undergone
surgery.
This educational bridge proves that our children are incredibly strong, courageous, determined, and
inspired. Our role
is to support them in their journey of discovery. Today, our distinguished guests helped them feel even more
confident
in their abilities.
Our superheroes also impressed the President of Moldova with their knowledge! They study geography well and
know that
Moldova is a friendly neighbor of Ukraine. Some, like superhero Artem, have already visited Moldova and
dream of going
back.
At the Superheroes School, we believe that learning can and should continue no matter the circumstances.
With the right
support, every child can embrace knowledge and the future with confidence!
“Our deepest admiration and best wishes to all these superheroes who, despite undergoing complex treatments,
find the
strength and desire to learn. Our schools and teachers are committed to doing everything possible to ensure
that new
knowledge and experiences not only support their treatment but also contribute to a long and happy life.”
— Olena Zelenska
Expanding and opening new educational hubs remains a key priority, and we are actively working on this goal
together
with the Olena Zelenska Foundation. In 2024, six new educational centers have already been launched with
funding from
the Olena Zelenska Foundation. This year, we plan to open at least six more, as well as to restore the
center at
Okhmatdyt.
Last year alone, across all 17 educational centers, more than 83,000 lessons were conducted. Behind these
numbers are
thousands of children’s smiles—right within hospital walls, noted Natalia Zhilinska, Acting Director of the
Superheroes
School.
This experience resonates deeply with President Maia Sandu, as during her tenure as Minister of Education,
she played a
key role in launching a similar educational space at the Oncology Center in Chișinău (Kishinev).
