A new School of Superheroes has opened in a hospital in Kryvyi Rih.

During their working visit, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the newly equipped classrooms.

The establishment of the School of Superheroes in Kryvyi Rih was fully financed by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.

"Children in hospitals in Kryvyi Rih face not only illnesses but also the harsh realities of war. For them, the School of Superheroes is more than just classrooms. It is a place where their childhood, hope, and support are restored. I am truly pleased that the School of Superheroes is growing so actively, and that my Foundation plays a part in this. I hope the support children receive in these centers will help them recover faster," said Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine and founder of the Foundation.

The new School has everything necessary for the comfortable stay and education of children. It includes two fully equipped classrooms, a play area for preschoolers, a mental health office, a library, and all necessary materials for the educational process, including tablets, interactive equipment, and school supplies.

"Today, we personally witnessed the results of our joint efforts with the School of Superheroes team in Kryvyi Rih. This is the third center we have supported financially this year. Such results inspire us to do more and continue seeking donors to open more Schools in new cities," emphasized Nina Horbachova, Director of the Olena Zelenska Foundation.

Ремонт тривав понад три місяці, але навіть у цей час вчителі проводили заняття, як індивідуальні, так і групові. За цей період діти вже відвідали більше ніж 1200 уроків. У команді Школи вже є завідувачка, вчитель початкових класів, вихователька та психолог. З початком навчального року до них доєднаються практичний психолог, методист та вчителі різних предметів.

The renovation lasted over three months, but even during this period, teachers held both individual and group lessons. Over this time, children have already attended more than 1,200 lessons. The School's team currently includes a headmistress, a primary school teacher, a caregiver, and a psychologist. With the start of the new school year, a practical psychologist, methodologist, and subject teachers will also join the team.

"The entire School of Superheroes team had been eagerly awaiting the opening of this educational space. Now, there is a new 'star' on the map, meaning that young patients in the hospital have a place for childhood, a space that cannot be taken away, even in a hospital setting. This is about education and development. We are grateful to the Foundation for believing in our project and giving us the opportunity to see happy superheroes in new classrooms," said Nataliia Zhilinska, Director of the State Institution 'School of Superheroes.'

This year, the Foundation has funded the creation of six new Schools of Superheroes. The first three centers in Kryvyi Rih, Vinnytsia, and Rivne are already operational and ready for the new school year. Three more will soon open in Lviv, Odesa, and Poltava.
