Kateryna Grechka, a teacher at the Kharkiv branch of the School of Superheroes, took part in the gala

The event took place as part of the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, “Education That Shapes the
World,” and
brought together
educators from
different countries.
Kateryna's story is an example of dedication to her students. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion,
she found
herself on the
front line
in the Chuhuiv district of Kharkiv region. Despite the shelling, she gathered children and held classes for
them
even in
basements. In 2023, she became one of the first teachers at the Kharkiv branch of the School of Superheroes
and now
teaches at two
children's hospitals in the city. Her lessons create “islands of knowledge and safety,” helping children
feel a normal
rhythm of life
even within hospital walls.
On stage alongside Kateryna were teachers from Canada, Estonia, Brazil, Korea, Lithuania, Kenya, and Ukraine
—
winners and
finalists of international education awards, founders of innovative schools, and educators known for their
unique
methods.
During the evening, Kateryna received a special gift — an interactive desk with a built-in panel for
completing assignments.
It will enable the organization of a modern educational process for children who, due to their health
condition, are
unable to
attend classes.
"It is a great honor for me to attend this grand event. My heart is filled with gratitude and happiness. It
is
an unforgettable experience.
Meeting teachers from different countries has made me realize that education has no boundaries. We all
live in
different parts of the world, speak different languages, and have different histories, but we are all
teachers who bring
the light of
knowledge and
the joy of learning to the children of this world.
Listening to the opinions of foreign and Ukrainian scientists, politicians, and educators, you really
understand that
education shapes
the future and that it is up to us
to decide what that future will be like. Now I have many ideas on how to make learning even more interesting
and useful
for my
students. I am 100% sure that the light of knowledge will overcome darkness," shared Kateryna Hrechka.
