New Superheroes’ School in Boyarka - a symbolic opening for the school year!
06.09.2023
The State Institution "Superheroes’ School" continues to expand its network and opportunities for
children in treatment!
With the beginning of the school year, we gathered for the festive opening of a new educational centre
at the Kyiv
Regional Children's Hospital in Boyarka.
This is the first Superheroes’ School in the Kyiv region and the third educational center in Ukrainian
hospitals opened
during the war. Like all our classrooms, the space here has been thought out to the smallest detail:
designers helped
make it ergonomic, comfortable and functional.
Even before the official opening, the Superheroes School in Boyarka was already in progress. Even in the
wards, the
superteachers gave the children positive and inspiring meetings and did their best to keep up with the
school
curriculum. Now the kids will learn new things and create in a real Superheroes’ School - in an amazing
atmosphere of
dreams and opportunities!
"The celebration has finally happened - the opening of the Superheroes' School educational center in
Boyarka, at the
Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital. Our superheroes and I have been waiting for this all the summer. But
even before the
bright educational space appeared, our teachers were already conducting classes with the kids. We
managed to provide
more than 500 educational services for 130 children. Today, what we have been waiting for three months
has finally
happened. Now we and our children have a fantastic space for learning and making dreams come true. We
are grateful to
everyone involved in this celebration," commented Tatyana Rubets, head of the Superheroes’ School in
Boyarka.
"For the first time, the opening of our educational center was attended by the Minister of Education and
Science of
Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi. Also, this celebration could not have taken place without Yevheniia Smirnova, the
founder of the
Superheroes’ School and now Deputy Minister of Education and Science, and our fairy godmother and
chairman of the board
of trustees, Nataliia Moseychuk.
"A child in the center of attention is the value of the Superheroes’ School team, which resonates with
me 100%. An
individual approach to each child, bright modern classrooms and a positively charged team do everything
to ensure that
children's stay in hospital does not become a time of lost opportunities for them. On the contrary, they
could gain the
necessary knowledge and skills, interesting experience and new friends," said Minister of Education and
Science of
Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi.
The kids were especially excited when the red ribbon was cut. It's not every day that you feel like
you're on the red
carpet of a famous festival or premiere! And behind the ribbon, the children were waiting for the bright
space of
knowledge and adventure they had been dreaming of this summer.
"I was amazed that a hospital could have a school. It's incredible that the children who are here now
can study, play
and take a break from their procedures. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the opening of
the
Superheroes’ School," said Liudmyla Riaboshapchenko, the mother of a young patient.
The participants of the event were given a tour of the Superheroes School's classrooms, had the
opportunity to talk to
the kids, find out their impressions of learning and even visit a biology lesson where they were
studying bacteria. Both
the children and the guests were pleasantly surprised when the teacher handed out knitted prototypes of
various
microorganisms that she had made herself!
For whom the opening of the Superheroes' School was the biggest miracle - it was for our two superheroes
who became
first-graders this year. The girls never dreamed of starting their school life in a hospital, of hearing
the first bell
and of such a bright Superheroes' School. But the dream caught up with them in time and became a
reality, so they could
keep up with their peers.
We managed to create the educational center at the Kyiv Oblast Children's Hospital in Boyarka thanks to
the financial
support of the international law firm Dentons. Now that the renovation is complete and the space is
equipped, we plan to
triple the coverage of children and the number of educational services provided here!
