On St. Nicholas Day, December 6, the advertising block from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will become charitable.
All funds
received from
advertisers during this time will be used by 1+1 Ukraine TV channel to purchase special boxes with
educational and
developmental
materials for children studying at the School of Superheroes—in particular, in educational centers operating
in
psychiatric
wards of 15 hospitals in Ukraine. This is a gift that has the power to change children's everyday lives
within hospital
walls—where
they
are often full of trials and tribulations.
The School of Superheroes is a unique and only state institution that provides education to children in
Ukrainian
hospitals.
Here,
childhood is restored where it risks being lost between procedures, tests, and diagnoses. In 23 educational
centers in
17 regions of Ukraine, young patients come to classes every day and feel that life goes on: here
they study
the school curriculum, make friends, dream, and plan for the future. Since the institution began its work,
educational
services
have already been
provided to 38,438 children, and 425,621 classes have been held.
The School of Superheroes was the first in Ukraine to implement the institution's flagship project,
“Unlimited
Education” – teaching in
psychiatric wards. Drawing on international experience, the School's team has managed to significantly
expand
the educational process. Since
the beginning of the school year, nearly 1,600 children—patients in psychiatric wards throughout
Ukraine—have become
students of the
School
of Superheroes. True superheroes, they have attended about 10,000 classes. And each of them is firmly held
by the hand
by our
teachers—more than 70 educators are already working in this area, and it continues to grow in order to
support every
child who
needs special attention and warmth.
Therefore, these boxes are not just a set of materials. They contain 88 items, carefully selected to create
a
modern,
safe, supportive, and developmental educational environment for children with special educational
needs. Each
item has been selected to meet the needs of children with SEN: from the youngest (preschoolers) to teenagers
(high
school students
),
from those who need sensory calming to those who need to structure their thinking or develop
fine and
gross motor skills.
All of the content promotes concentration, reduces anxiety, and develops speech, thinking, creativity, and
interaction
skills.
It is thanks to such materials that the hospital space is transformed into a space for development,
discovery, and
trust—

a place where
children can once again feel like students, dreamers, explorers, and creators.
“We talk about the School of Superheroes as a place where childhood reigns even within hospital walls.
Therefore,
we consider it our
main task to give childhood to as many children as possible who find themselves in hospitals. We
are happy that our
goal is supported by thousands of Ukrainians. This holiday gift is actually a great investment in the
educated future
of our children.
Despite their illness, we will all give them the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop," said Natalia
Zhilinska,
director of the
state
institution “School of Superheroes.”
