Libraries of the "School of Superheroes" Received One Thousand New Ukrainian Books

On July 12th, the superhero library of Okhmatdyt temporarily transformed from a quiet book
universe into an exciting
place of adventure. As part of the charity event "Ukrainian Books for Ukrainian Children," a reading
promotion event was
held, during which the "School of Superheroes" received one thousand new editions.
There are legends about the superheroes' love for reading. Some rush to the library at the first
opportunity between
procedures, while others devour books one after another.
"Reading is an important step towards allowing each child to forget about treatment and illness for a
while and immerse
themselves in a world of dreams and fantasies. The School of Superheroes provides children not only with
educational
services but also with psychological support. An engaging Ukrainian book offers the opportunity to make
their hospital
stay interesting outside of classes," stated Olga Nabochenko, Deputy Director of the state institution
"School of
Superheroes" and a guest of the event.
Also present were Oleksiy Dniprov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine; Bohdan
Chervak, First Deputy
Head of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting; and Volodymyr Zhovnir, General
Director of the
National Specialized Children's Hospital "Okhmatdyt" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
he event began with the presentation of the fairy tale "How Nature Helped Ukraine" by Natalia
Bovtruk—the author herself
read it to the superheroes. Afterwards, the children participated in an interactive training-quest. At
the end, the
little ones received the fairy tale-coloring book with Ms. Natalia's autograph and healthy treats from
Bob Snail as
gifts.
Additionally, the children had an interesting yet challenging task—to depict their inner state in the
form of a hero. At
this moment, the library space was once again filled with its usual quiet. Adults also joined in to help
the children.
Together, they drew soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Batman, firefighters, and more.
As intended, the event provided the little ones with a fun time, new knowledge, and, most importantly,
the motivation to
journey through the pages of stories. They now have many new books, which were handed over to the
"School of
Superheroes" during this event! Along with the shelves, these books will appear in educational centers
in Mykolaiv,
Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, and Lviv.
"Ukrainian books are a valuable asset, especially in the harsh conditions of the war in Ukraine.
Creating new books and
promoting reading is another step towards wisdom and education. Books can provide new emotions, as they
did today, which
in turn motivates new achievements and strength. This is crucial during the war period, for Ukrainians
young and old.
Therefore, I am pleased that within the largest book initiative, we manage to realize small dreams,"
said Bohdan
Chervak.
We extend our gratitude for the support and gifts for the superheroes to the event organizers: the
Office of the
President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Committee for
Television and Radio
Broadcasting, the International Charitable Foundation "Future Health," the team of the charity event
"Ukrainian Books
for Ukrainian Children," the National Specialized Children's Hospital "Okhmatdyt" of the Ministry of
Health of Ukraine,
the publishing center "Academy," and the brand of natural treats Bob Snail ("Ravlyk Bob").
